Greetings y'all.  Welcome to the official page of the Knicks on 201concepts.com

It's been quite an interesting offseason.  From Jason Kidd to Grant Hill to Andre Miller to Ramon Session to your beloved David Lee and Nate Robinson.  All these rumors but nothing accomplished.

We all know the plan is 2010.  Do we have to be patient? Yes.  Are we tired of having a  disappointment every year? Yes.  Is LeBon coming?  Who knows.  But whoever The Knicks bring in, whether it's LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Amare, or Joe Johnson, they're going to need a supporting cast.  Translation: Keep David and Nate.  Yes, we have to preserve our cap carefully but no star is coming here with only Gallinari and Wilson Chandler on the roster.  Which means Eddy Curry and Jared Jeffries must be moved.

Sources say that Mike D'Antoni loves Jared as a person and player.  He had a good season last year.  He's a player that knows his role well.  He grabs rebounds, keeps offensive rebounds alive, hustles, and can guard 4 positions on the floor.  D'Antoni used him well last year by having him cut to the basket unlike Isiah who had him on the perimeter.  One team that would take him is the team that originally drafted him, The Washington Wizards.  Despite having a poor year last year, Gilbert Arenas is back and supposedly in the best shape of his career, dropping to 207 lbs, his lowest since entering the league.  They acquired Mike Miller and Randy Foye to add depth to the team.  Mike James won't be receiving much playing time with Nick Young and Foye coming off the bench.  James has an expiring contract that would wipe off $6.46 million this year.

As for Eddy Curry. I know. I know.  Overweight.  Lazy.  Uninspired.  E-City isn't going anywhere.  I disagree.  We moved Zach Randolph's 3 year/$48 million last year.   Bottom Line:  If Eddy gets in shape, keeps dropping weight(supposedly has lost 30 lbs since the end of the season, making him 328 now) and puts up his 20 and 7 numbers, teams will call.  Remember, Centers are rare in this league.  One team that would take a chance on Eddy is Dallas.  Eddy could demand the double team and kick it out to Nowitzki, Jason Terry, and Shawn Marion all day.  A trade of Curry for Gooden(1 year/ $4.5) and Greg Buckner (First year-$4,018,518  and player option for second year of $4,277,777) would save the Knicks about $7 Million for next year.  Rumor also has it that Dampier's contract is based on incentives so his contract may not be guaranteed for the 2010-2011 season meaning a swap of Curry for Dampier's $10.1 M this year and his $13M next year that would be declined next summer would also be a fit.

So with these two trades, the Knicks can add $13-17M to the cap room to pursue another max contract with scenario A.  Scenario B is if Curry and Jared aren't moved this season, they will come off the books after 2011 when Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant could become available.  Scenario C- Chris Paul in 2012.

We will give you the roster possibilties as soon as the restricted free agent situations are cleared up with Nate, David, and Sessions.
