The Washington Wizards defeated the New York Knicks 106-96 last night at the Verizon Center in downtown D.C.

Antawn Jamison showed why he is one of the most coveted players for next month's trade deadline as the 12 year veteran scored 21 points and pulled down 23 boards for the Wizards.  Veteran guard Mike Miller had an all around game scoring 25 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, and dishing out 8 assists.

Knicks forward/center David Lee continued his strong season as he finished with 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.  Despite playing with a hyper-extended knee, Jared Jeffries played all 48 minutes finishing with 17 points and 4 rebounds.

New York travels to the Target Center in Minnesota tonight to face the Timberwolves at 7 p.m. in a rematch of last Tuesday where the Knicks won 132-105 at Madison Square Garden.

Minnesota is coming off an 111-97 win vs. the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.  They are young team with a sold core featuring Jonny Flynn who is having a solid rookie season by averaging 14.2 PPG and 4.2 APG.  They have two featured big men in Al Jefferson and Kevin Love who are both double-double threats every night.  Jefferson averages 17.7 PPG and 9.8 RPG while Kevin Love averages 15.0 PPG and 11.9 RPG.  Love is currently coming off the bench since Head Coach Kurt Rambis is concerned with the lack of energy off the bench.

Injury note:  Knicks may not be with forward Al Harrington tonight again.  The team is missing his scoring off the bench.

PG Duhon
