The Pittsburgh Panthers defeated the Seton Hall Pirates 83-58 on a snowy Saturday night in Pittsburgh. Gilbert Brown led the way for Pitt with 23 points off the benchwhile Brad Wanamaker played an all round game with 13 points, 7assists, and 6 rebounds. Eugene Harvey led the Pirates in scoring with12 points. The Pirates were out-rebounded 39-23. Seton Hall's season is standing on thin ice and it doesn't help having another excuse after the game. "I guess when it rains, it pours," Seton Hall coach Bobby Gonzalezsaid. "Or, like they say, when it snows, it snows. We had a tough onefrom the beginning ... walking to the hotel in a state of emergency inthe middle of the afternoon. Maybe that affected us, I don't know." Seton Hall's bus reportedly broke down after it left the hotel which led to the team walking to the arena. They have eight games remaining on their schedule as they will hostNotre Dame, DePaul, Rutgers, and Marquette while traveling to St.John's, West Virginia, Rutgers, and Providence. Their chances of makingthe NCAA tournament have heavily diminished and must now focus for a NIT bid. It will start with Notre Dame (17-7, 6-5) tomorrow night at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. ND is coming off a 65-62 win vs. USF. They are led by Big East playerof the year candidate senior forward/center Luke Harangody who isleading the conference in scoring with 24.5 PPG and 10.1 RPG. This could be a high scoring affair with both teams being near the bottom ofdefensive categories. Seton Hall projected starting line-up: PG Harvey SG Hazell SF Mitchell PF Robinson C Pope Notre Dame projected starting line-up: PG Jackson SG Hansbrough SF Nash PF Abromaitis C Harangody
